Building Polynomial Functions (Algebra 2)

In this lesson set, students use arithmetic to combine polynomial functions and explore the relationship between the original and new functions. Particular attention is focused on tabular and algebraic strategies for combining functions using arithmetic and the relationship between factors and x-intercepts of polynomial functions. 

Through engaging in this lesson set, students will:  

• deepen understanding of how multiple representations are used to represent the same relationship between two variable quantities;  
• learn how to combine polynomial functions arithmetically using multiple representations; and  
• understand the relationship between factors and zeros of a polynomial function.
